One Hundred Things You've Never Needed to Know

I've frightened away my lovely commenters with my late-night posts, haven't I? I really ought to start posting earlier in the day. In the hopes of producing a slightly less nonsensical post, I'm following a structure tonight, in the form of one of those tags on Facebook (which I actually wasn't tagged in, but never mind the needless details). Which means you get to learn more than you ever wanted to know about a complete stranger. ;)

1. Full name: Confidential

Readers Around the World

As you can see, I am an adept cartographer. And I kind of
forgot what the rest of the world looks like...
According to my Stats tab, today readers from the US, Canada, India, Malaysia, Australia, and Slovenia have viewed this blog; this week I've had readers from the UK, the Netherlands, Greece, Egypt, and New Zealand; this month I've had readers from Haiti and South Africa, and in the past I've also had readers from the Ukraine.

It was sort of shocking that people from so many places had entered this compilation of nonsensical rambles!

If you're one of my international readers, I'd love it if you could drop a comment! If you're from the US, I'd like your comments anyways. =P

Let's Pretend This is a Profound Title

I've read to include a picture in every blog
post, so... this is my pony. =D
This is my thirtieth post. It's kind of pathetic, since I've had this blog since September, and many blogs would have reached that in the first month. I'm just such a dull person there isn't much to write about. =P

I'm thinking of setting up some sort of posting schedule, like doing a word of the week, or a classical piece of the week, or some nerdy fact. And maybe an interview or a guest post every so often. I thought about filming a vlog post with my webcam, but major awkwardness would ensue... so probably not. But I haven't completely ruled it out. What would you like to see? Do you have any suggestions?

Anyway, since I have nothing else to post about, I've decided to run a contest! The author of the seventy-fifth comment will receive... something. I haven't quite decided on the prize. I'll probably give a list of options for the winner to choose from. Suggestions are welcome for that too.

Also, two days until the Script Frenzy halfway point! How's everyone doing? I'm... way behind.

20 of the Reasons Why I Am An Atypical Teenager

I decided to copy some of my blogger
friends by making illustrations in Paint.
This is actually a very true-to-life
representation.

  1. I don't pay mind to fashion trends.
  2. I don't own a single article of clothing produced by Abercrombie & Fitch, Aeropostale, or American Eagle. Go cheap no-name brands.
  3. I don't own a single article of clothing made of denim. No jeans, no overalls, no denim skirts, shirts, or jackets. You're probably wondering now what my wardrobe could possibly consist of. See figure at right.
  4. I don't torture myself with high heels.
  5. I don't pay more to wear less.
  6. My parents become concerned enough to check on me when I sleep past nine, and would probably declare me braindead if I slept much later.
  7. I am perhaps the only human being who is not overly fond of pizza. This can be an inconvenience at social gatherings.
  8. TV? I've heard of it... I think.
  9. I can count on one hand the instances I have played a video game.
  10. I don't have a boyfriend, have never had a boyfriend, and have absolutely no desire to have a boyfriend for quite some time.
  11. I don't own a cell phone.
  12. I frequently engage in conversation with adults, and often find such conversations quite enjoyable. Often more so than those with people of my own age. Though exceptions exist, of course.
  13. I make eye contact.
  14. I have no intentions of ever drinking alcohol, smoking, et cetera.
  15. I have never worn make-up.
  16. My hair care regimen consists of shampooing, rinsing, drying, and brushing.
  17. My ears are not pierced, nor any other body parts.
  18. I possess no desire to drive, and have not made the slightest step toward achieving a permit.
  19. If I did drive, let's just say the results would be... quite frightening. (Oh wait. That's not atypical.)
  20. I cannot walk over a flat, stable, obstacle-free surface without meeting the ground up-close and personal. Gravity loves me, what can I say?
  21. I adore my schooling. One might say I am obsessed, even.
Please note that I don't necessarily frown upon all these things. There's nothing wrong with liking pizza or owning a cell phone. I'm mainly just listing my weirdness.

Do you have any to add? Do any of these apply to you?
And if none do... well, I won't come at you with a baseball bat or anything. ;)

The Pathetic Blogger Still Lives

I am a terrible blogger. A month and a half ago, I said I'd post an update the next day. That, erm, didn't quite happen... and I'm wondering how many of you even remember this dusty little corner of the internet.

I've been pretty busy lately, and when I actually have some time on my hands I've been very fatigued. Time is just slipping by faster than I can get anything done, and blogging, I'm afraid, is pretty low on my list of priorities. I just don't know how people with much busier lives manage to blog every day. I really need to break my post-NaNo routine of staying up and getting up late, and then perhaps I can fit it into my schedule to blog in the mornings.

But enough rambling. I have exciting news to share! On Monday, December 6, we welcomed my baby brother Christian Hayes into the world!

Having lived a decade and a half utterly siblingless, this is quite a change for me, but a very welcome one!

I have to go now, but I will post again with more photos of Christian, the rest of the 30 Day Challenge from so long ago, and a little bit of what I've been up to lately very soon. I know that's what I said last time, but I've missed blogging, and I really do intend to get this blog up and running again.

I hope that you dear readers have been well, and that you are having a wonderful holiday season so far!

I'm Sorry!

I apologize for my lack of updates. I've been writing a post explaining what I've been up to lately--and finishing up the 30 Day Challenge--but it just won't post correctly. I'm going to try again tomorrow. Sorry again for the delay!

I'm Back!

I am very sorry I haven't updated this blog in so long! My plan was to post every other day at the least, but obviously that hasn't happened. The week before last we were on vacation (which was wonderful, and I will post photos when I have time!), and then this past week I've been very busy with various medical appointments and a new project I'm taking on.

I will try very hard to post more regularly in the future. To spur me along and give me ideas for topics to post about, I'm going to try a thirty-day blog challenge I first heard about over at The Heart of Pais Charos. I'll begin tomorrow.

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Olivia, and I am a young girl who loves reading, writing, horses, piano, classical music, and, most of all, God. I live on a few acres with three horses, two standard poodles, a Nubian goat, and a cockatiel. I've been an only child, but that will soon change as my mother is pregnant and due in November!

I hope you will enjoy reading my blog, and I'd be very appreciative if you'd follow it!

Have a blessed day!
